It's a tough world
out there!
You may think that
swapping your 9-to-5 for a home
based business would give you the luxury of firing
your boss...
...good news! It does!
But, you replace one
boss with lots of customers who
all act like your boss! :-)
I don't mind that.
My customers are the lifeline of
my business and they get treated very well (in my
humble opinion).
What's interesting
is the difficult balancing act of
helping people who are not your customers...they just
email you out of the blue asking for help.
What do you do with
these people? They're numerous.
They ask multiple questions. They slow you down.
Of course, you'd like
to help. But you're only one
person. You only have 24 hours in the day.
Can you just ignore
them?
Where you draw the
line is up to you. Personally, I
try to help as much as possible *within reason* and
according to the amount of free time I have available.
But, there's a small
percentage who repeatedly email
you and use up large chunks of your time...watch out
for them...you just have to know when to say "sorry,
if you need further help, I consult for $x per hour".
Believe me, it will
save your sanity!
