Ideas/Section-10
Back in the "old
days," book publishers were about the only people who could
get copies made of a book. There were no handy Xerox machines sitting
at the secretary's desk. Laser printing and computers were thought
to be only possible in a science-fiction movie. And no printer could
afford the time and expense for setting up a print run of 5,000
copies or less due to the cost of the metal plate.
But today, there is a wide variety of printing available. Even color
printing can be done at your local Kinko's shop for around $2. Also
-- we earth creatures of 1997 have the choice of making one copy
or two million copies since copy services are widely available in
every town and city -- virtually all over the world.
Offset commercial printers were also greatly advanced by the 1990s
technology. Many of them work hand-in-hand with typesetters utilizing
computer diskettes. Master plates are made directly from the disk,
and for short runs, paper plates can be used instead of metal. Offset
press printing delivers a much higher, professional quality for
the final copy versus high-speed copiers (as described previously)
but both types of printing can be used hand-in-hand to your advantage.
Additionally, inks and various types of paper have improved to make
it easier for the printer as well as enhancing the final look of
the actual printed page. Printing presses today are digitally controlled
and eliminate most of the tedious, dangerous and messy jobs that
used to have to be done by hand!
This new technology gives YOU the ability to publish ANY book, on
ANY subject, WITHOUT rejection slips. You can do it very inexpensively
too! And, you can write a book without giving any thought of selling
it -- which provides you with the complete freedom to write.
That's why it doesn't make any difference if you can write well
or not. You don't have to have a certain talent. Just write (preferably
type) your words and thoughts. It's that simple.
Some Ideas on What to Write
Your Book About:
Hopefully, you already have an idea in
mind on what to write your book about. If not -- here are some ideas:
* Family tree
* Family and local community recipes
* Collection of thoughts that encourage others
* Tips to repair your automobile
* Tips to help first-time parents
* How I repaired by computer and saved a ton of money
* How to make your marriage work
* Poetry
* Christian-related testimonials
* How to save money shopping by mail order
* How I built my own kitchen cabinets
* Saving money buying your first home
* My personal experiences with products I purchased from TV infomercials.
What's good and what's bad!
* How I survived abuse and started to live again.
Or, perhaps you have been stricken by
a rare disease, took care of someone who had Alzheimer's, raised
14 foster kids, or did any number of things that the average person
has never done. Maybe you have a hobby of collecting stamps, coins,
baseball cards, Barbie dolls or door knobs. Maybe you have some
legitimate viewpoints about the government or our judicial system.
Maybe you have won the lottery or know some secret Bingo tips. Whatever
it is -- everyone HAS SOMETHING WORTHWHILE TO SAY! If not -- you're
not thinking hard enough.
Yes -- it's been said before that EVERYONE has a book inside them.
Isn't it time you thought about writing yours? A book is like a
photograph -- it continues living even after you're gone!
